The purpose and scope of the journal

"Aspects of Historical Musicology" is a periodical scientific publication, which is a peer-reviewed journal in the field of musical historiography. Its themes focus on a wide range of studies of musical culture in its genesis, development and modern state. Priority is given to materials that offer new approaches to the consideration of well-known phenomena of musical art, explore new sources or open up new issues.

The founder of the publication is the Kharkiv National University of Arts named after I. P. Kotlyarevsky. By the decision of the Academic Council of the University the Journal is published twice a year.

The purpose of this edition is the publication of the results of scientific research, including theses in the field of "Music Art" (17.00.03) and the promotion of science and education, the implementation of scientific and educational programs, the dissemination of scientific knowledge about musical art.
