Since 2016, Kharkiv I. Kotlyarevskiy National University of Arts has become a member of the Association of European Conservatoires, (Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen), which unites about 300 educational institutions from 57 countries.

The European Conservatory Association is a voluntary organization of higher education establishments in Europe and beyond.

The association sees professionally oriented arts education as a quest for excellence in teaching and learning, research and innovation. In an effort to promote this, it encourages the diversity and dynamism with which they operate in different institutions, countries and regions.

The organization is a leading voice in higher education in Europe, a powerful lawyer for its member institutions. The Association understands and supports the musical and artistic education based on democratic values.

Mission. AEC supports higher education in the performing arts, primarily focusing on music. Activity of the organization is being led in four main directions:

  • enhancing quality of higher musical education;
  • increasing the value of musical art and musical education in society;
  • promoting participation, inclusiveness and diversity;
  • strengthening partnerships and engaging with stakeholders.
